Dear Callie (aka an open letter to my calendar)

Whenever I am confused, Callie is the first thing I turn to. Callie always knows what is next and how to guide me about my day. Callie reminds me when it is time to leave, wake up, and go to sleep. I live based on its command. I spent many hours staring at Callie, looking at it for answers, so I decided to make it pretty. I created a color key to understand Callie without even reading the words I had written down. It worked for a while until I started joining clubs, and then I hit a problem. There weren’t enough colors. I tried placing Callie in different locations: on my computer, in a planner, in a mini notebook, but still, I never found a way to express everything that went on in a day. Everything had to be accomplished. Yes, Callie knew my classes, rehearsals, and homework. But it didn’t know things like making my bed, doing my skincare routine, and having personal time. These things became hard to do because I was always so overwhelmed when looking at Callie. So I decided to include it all. Callie now included personal time, my skincare routine, and all the little victories I complete in a day. Is looking at Callie still overwhelming? Yes. Am I still trying to find more colors to add to Callie? Yes. Could I ever live without it? No! So Thank you, Callie, for all the hard work that you’ve done for me. You are the best schedule a person could ask for!

Sincerely,
